Trust center
A trust center is a public page, or set of pages, where a company shows its security, privacy and compliance status. It collects reports, certificates, policies and subprocessors, with a way to request confidential documents.
- Also called
- Trust centre, Trust portal, Security page, Security center, Trust page

A trust center answers the questions a buyer’s security, legal and procurement teams ask before they approve a vendor. Instead of sending the same documents by email for every deal, the company publishes what it can in one place and puts the rest behind a request form. Compliance platforms describe it the same way: Vanta calls its version a public or access-controlled page that shows security and compliance posture and cuts down on manual questionnaire work.
Typical contents are audit reports and certificates such as SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001, penetration test summaries, security and privacy policies, a subprocessor list, data residency details, a status page link and a security contact. Some documents can be public. A SOC 3 report, for example, is a general-use report that can be freely distributed, while a SOC 2 report is usually shared under NDA.
Why it matters for a SaaS company
Security review is often the last step before a contract, and it is where deals stall. A trust center lets the buyer’s team find answers on their own schedule, without waiting for sales. It also signals maturity before anyone asks: a dated, specific page reads as a company that takes security seriously.
For AI products the questions go further: whether customer data trains models, which model providers process it, and where. Buyers expect those answers in writing.
How DesignMe handles it
We design and build trust center and security pages as part of website design projects for B2B SaaS, AI and fintech companies. We do not audit or certify, and these pages make no claim about DesignMe’s own compliance status. The facts come from your compliance team. We structure the page so each reviewer finds their answer fast, write status in plain words (held, in progress, planned), and connect it to the gated document portal your compliance platform provides.
Example
Say an AI support platform loses two weeks per enterprise deal to security questionnaires. Its new trust center opens with three lines: SOC 2 Type 2 report held, ISO/IEC 27001 audit in progress, customer data not used to train models. Below sit the subprocessor list, data regions, policies and a request form for the SOC 2 report under NDA. Sales sends one link instead of a document pack.
Common mistakes
- Badges without detail. Logos with no report type, date or scope do not answer a reviewer’s question.
- Stale content. An expired certificate or an old subprocessor list costs more trust than no page at all.
- Hiding it. Link it from the footer and the pricing page, where enterprise buyers look.
- Overclaiming. “Enterprise-grade security” means nothing to a reviewer. State what is done and what is in progress.
- No contact. Give security teams a named address for questions the page does not answer.
Questions
- What should a trust center include?
- At minimum: which audits and certifications you hold, with type, date and scope; your security and privacy policies; a list of subprocessors; where customer data is stored; and a way to request confidential documents such as a SOC 2 report. AI companies should also say whether customer data is used to train models.
- Do we need a trust center platform, or can it be a page on our website?
- A well-structured page on your own site is enough for many startups. Compliance platforms such as Vanta add access control, NDA signing and request tracking for gated documents. Many companies use both: a public security page on the website that links to the gated document portal.
