The best design agency for an AI startup is one that has shipped AI products, not only AI-themed websites, and fits your stage and budget. Below are 10 agencies that do this work, compared on the same five points, with prices and reviews checked on 26 October 2026.
Full disclosure: I run DesignMe, and DesignMe is on this list, at number two, behind Lazarev.agency. Here’s how we picked, so you can check our working. Every competitor gets the same entry: what they’re best for, what they cost where they say so publicly, which AI companies they’ve worked with, and where they beat us. Two of them have a deeper AI record than we do, and one of those is at number one.
What an AI startup needs from a design agency
A design agency for AI startups designs the brand, the website and the product screens for software whose output changes every time. That last part is the difference. A normal SaaS screen shows the same thing every time; an AI screen has to handle answers that are slow, partly wrong or missing, and still keep the user’s trust.
Here’s what to look for in the work an agency shows you:
- A headline about the job, not the model. “AI-powered” stopped being a value proposition. The site should say what gets done, and for whom.
- The product working, on screen. A short loop, a demo or a real input and output, shown before it’s explained.
- Design for uncertainty. Sources, confidence cues, easy edits and a clear way back when the AI gets it wrong.
- People in control. How users review, edit and approve what the AI produces, especially when an agent acts on their behalf.
- Loading and streaming states. What the screen does in the seconds while an answer is being written.
- Data answers on the website. Whether customer data trains the model, where it’s processed and who can see it. It’s one of the first questions in a security review.
If an agency’s AI portfolio is all gradients and glowing orbs, with no product screens, keep looking. Our AI startups page goes deeper on each of these.
How we picked
We started with the agencies that rank and get named by AI answers for “design agency for AI startups” (Parallel, Lazarev.agency and Avark in our own weekly check), then added the agencies that appear most often on the other top AI lists. For each one we read their own site and their Clutch profile on 26 October 2026 and checked five things:
- Named AI clients. Real AI companies you can look up, with product work, not only a service page about AI.
- Design and build in one team. Can the same team build what it designs?
- A public starting price. A price, a minimum or a rate on their own site.
- A start under $25,000. Can a seed-stage team begin without a six-figure commitment?
- Independent reviews. A Clutch rating of 4.8 or higher from at least 10 reviews.
| Agency | Design and build | Public price | Start under $25k | Clutch 4.8+, 10+ reviews |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lazarev.agency | Webflow sites | No | No | Yes |
| DesignMe | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Metalab | Yes | No | No | No reviews |
| Parallel | Enterprise tier only | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Eleken | Frontend only | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Phenomenon Studio | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 925Studios | Websites only | Yes | Yes | No |
| Halo Lab | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Focus Lab | No | Yes | Yes | No |
| Avark | Yes | No | Yes | No reviews |
Nine of the ten name AI clients on their own site, so that column isn’t shown; the exception is Halo Lab, which is here for its AI development work and its size, and its entry says so. The order is our judgement. Lazarev.agency is first even though it misses two of our points (no public price, and no way in under $25,000), because nobody here has a deeper record of designing AI products. Below it, the order is weighted towards what a seed to Series A AI startup usually needs: one team for the brand, the site and the product, a price it can plan around, and a way to start small. If your budget is $100,000 or more, read entries 1 and 3 first.
The 10 agencies at a glance

| Metalab | AI-native companies with big budgets | $100,000+ (Clutch) | No reviews |
| Parallel | An AI design sprint first | Typically from $10k | 4.8 (10 reviews) |
| Eleken | An AI product designer on subscription | $4,599/mo | 4.9 (130 reviews) |
| Phenomenon Studio | Design plus an AI MVP build | Rapid MVP from $20,000 | 5.0 (54 reviews) |

Prices are what each agency’s own site said on 26 October 2026, except where marked Clutch (those agencies publish none). DesignMe’s rating is from October 2026. Prices and reviews change, so check again before you sign.
1. Lazarev.agency: the deepest AI design record

Best for: funded AI startups and scale-ups that want award-level AI product UX, with a budget to match.
- Website: lazarev.agency
- Based: Mountain View and San Francisco, California. Founded in 2015, with 40+ people in-house by its own count.
- What they do: AI product launches, AI UX patterns for existing products, human-and-agent experience design, conversational design, product and web design, branding, and Webflow builds. They also sell agentic websites and AI search visibility.
- Price: not published. Their contact form’s lowest budget option is under $50,000, and Clutch lists a $100,000 minimum and $100 to $149 an hour. Engagements typically run in 8 to 12 week phases.
- AI clients: Accern, Elva, VTnews.ai, Bacca AI and Dynascale, and they say they’ve designed 30+ AI and ML tools and copilots.
- Reviews: 5.0 on Clutch from 19 reviews.
Where they beat us: the most AI case studies of any agency here and an award record to match, with Webby wins for visual design in AI in 2024, 2025 and 2026, according to their site. Look elsewhere if you need a price before the first call, or your first budget is under $50,000.
2. DesignMe: brand, site and AI product from one team

Best for: seed to Series A AI startups that need the brand, the website, the deck and the product screens at the same time, designed and built by the same people.
- Website: designme.agency
- Based: Gdańsk, Poland. A team of 15 senior designers and developers, working European hours and the US East Coast morning.
- What we do: brand and pitch decks, website design, product design, motion and launch videos, and the build in Framer, Webflow, Astro or Next.js. We also clean up AI-built MVPs so they’re ready for customers and investors.
- Price: monthly plans at $6,000 (Design or Development) and $10,000 (Design + Development); fixed packages at $15k, $25k and $35k, live in 2 to 8 weeks; a UX audit at $2,500 for 5 to 7 days. Everything is on our pricing page.
- Reviews: 5.0 on Clutch from 12 reviews.
Here’s the AI work behind that, all from our case studies:
- Datawizz: 18+ months across the brand, investor materials, launch videos, product pages and a Framer website that scores 99/100 on PageSpeed Insights, for an AI company that raised a $12.5M seed (their round, our design).
- Zinq AI: came to us for a pitch deck and a rebrand, and two weeks later it was a retainer across the website, the product and the sales material. We designed 11 product areas, from deals and entities to the AI assistant.
- Chariot (formerly Gan.ai): a refreshed brand, website and product in 2 months, with 50+ product screens redesigned, for a generative AI video startup that launched on Product Hunt.
- Quotient: an AI-native marketing platform, where a brand and website project grew into an 18+ month partnership across the brand, website, pitch materials and product.
- Hint: the brand, a mascot, 100+ app screens on iOS and Android, the website and the launch film for an AI travel guide.
- Droxy: a brand and a Framer website for an AI agent platform, live in 4 weeks.
Where others beat us: Lazarev.agency and Metalab have longer AI records and bigger names (three Webby wins for visual design in AI at Lazarev; Midjourney and Suno at Metalab). We’re 15 people, so a program that needs a large team at once fits them better. And we don’t have a US office.

3. Metalab: the AI-native client list

Best for: well-funded AI companies that want the agency behind some of the best-known AI interfaces.
- Website: metalab.com
- Based: Vancouver, with a team spread across 18 places including New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, London and Amsterdam. Working with startups since 2006.
- What they do: product strategy and design, brand, websites, and web and mobile app development and engineering.

- Reviews: no reviews on Clutch.
Where they beat us: the strongest list of AI-native clients of any agency we looked at, and 20 years of building products. Look elsewhere if your first project is under $100,000, or you want reviews you can read before the call.
4. Parallel: an AI design sprint first

Best for: seed to Series A AI startups that want to start with a design sprint and product UX.
- Website: parallelhq.com
- Based: San Mateo, California and Bengaluru, India. Founded in 2014 according to Clutch.
- What they do: AI-first UX, prompt and interaction design, UX and product design, design systems, branding and websites. Full-stack engineering sits in their enterprise tier. Their AI Design Sprint runs in four stages and ends with an engineering debrief on data, feasibility and budget.
- Price: “engagements typically start at $10k”, and most projects begin with a 4 to 6 week sprint. No price is given for the AI Design Sprint itself.
- AI clients: Inhouse, Sentra, Finpilot and Autoheal, plus AI trust and transparency work for Meta.
- Reviews: 4.8 on Clutch from 10 reviews.

5. Eleken: an AI product designer on subscription

Best for: AI SaaS teams with their own engineers that want a dedicated product designer on a monthly plan.
- Website: eleken.co
- Based: Kyiv, Ukraine, with a US entity. Founded in 2015, 100+ people, and SaaS only.

- AI clients: Aampe, Lambda, Datawisp and Avid AI.

Best for: YC and Techstars-style AI startups that want product design and the MVP built, with a price list up front.
- Website: phenomenonstudio.com

- AI clients: Artisan, an AI agent startup, among others.
- Reviews: 5.0 on Clutch from 54 reviews.
Where they beat us: a detailed public price list for MVP builds and more reviews. Look elsewhere if the brand and the launch story matter as much as the product.

- Based: Warsaw, Poland and Boston, US. More than 13 years in business, 120+ people.
- What they do: design and development in React, Next.js, Vue and Node.js, plus Webflow and Sanity, with AI integration and AI chatbot development.
- Price: projects start from $5,000. Clutch lists $25 to $49 an hour.
- Clients: Pluto, Stay, WeSpire, nyra health and Umso. We found no named AI startup case on their homepage.

Questions to ask on the first call
- Show me the screen for when the AI is wrong. What does the user see, and how do they fix it?
- Which AI products have you designed screens for, not only websites? Are they live?
- Who builds it? Are the developers on your team, and on which stack?
- How do you design what happens while an answer is loading, and when an agent acts for the user?
- What does it cost to start, and what happens if we pause or stop?
- Who owns the Figma files, the code and the accounts at the end?
An agency that has shipped AI products answers the first two with screens, not slides. For the wider picture of what’s changed, read AI in product design in 2026.
