Framer to Webflow migration
Framer to Webflow, when the CMS gets serious
For sites that outgrew the canvas: bigger content libraries, more editors, more structure. We rebuild in Webflow and keep every URL.
- Typical timeline
- Scoped after the URL inventory
- Cost
- Quoted after the URL inventory
- SEO risk
- Low to medium: paths can usually stay the same
- Moves cleanly
- CMS collections (CSV), copy, images
- Must be rebuilt
- Every page, components, effects, redirects
There is no automated Framer to Webflow migration; both platforms describe it as a rebuild. We export each Framer CMS collection to CSV, rebuild the collections and reference fields in Webflow, import the content, rebuild the pages and interactions in Webflow’s designer, and recreate every redirect in Webflow’s 301 settings before the domain moves.
Why teams move
Why teams move from Framer to Webflow
The CMS hits its ceiling
Blogs, resource libraries, integrations and case studies at volume need collections, references and filtering that Webflow has had years to mature.
More people edit the site
As the marketing team grows, Webflow’s split between building and editing keeps the design system safe while content moves fast.
SEO becomes a channel
Teams treating search as a channel want granular control over meta structures, redirects, canonicals and schema at scale.

What comes across from Framer
Content moves through CSV. Everything visual is rebuilt.

- Exported, imported, then checked by hand
- Partly
- Some of it imports, the rest is redone
- Rebuilt
- Nothing to import, we rebuild it

What Framer teams worry about
Will we lose the motion that made the site?
Most of it rebuilds well in Webflow interactions. We list the effects that matter at the start and agree which are worth the extra work.
Will our CMS come over?
Yes, through CSV. We set up fields first, import referenced collections in order and check every item, because rich text and alt text can shift on import.
Will our URLs change?
Usually not. Webflow lets us keep the same page paths, and collection paths are matched or redirected one to one.
When not to migrate
When to stay on Framer
The site is a focused marketing site with a modest blog, and the team loves editing on the canvas.
Speed of design changes matters more than CMS structure right now.
Your content fits comfortably inside your Framer plan’s limits.
Not sure which side you’re on?
If one of these is you, staying on Framer is probably the better call. We’ll say so on the first call.
FAQ
Framer to Webflow questions
Moving from Framer to Webflow?
Every URL mapped, the CMS rebuilt, SEO kept. We scope it on a 30-minute call.
Is there a tool that converts Framer to Webflow?
Not an official one. Webflow’s own guide says there is no automated way and that it’s a rebuild, not a transfer. Content moves through CSV; the design is rebuilt.
Can we export the Framer CMS?
Yes. Framer’s CMS Export plugin exports collections to CSV, which Webflow can import once the matching fields exist.
What are Webflow’s CSV import limits?
Files up to 4MB, with the plan’s CMS item limit on top. Reference fields work by slug; file fields can’t be imported. Bigger collections go in batches or through Webflow’s API, which creates up to 100 items per request.
Why not just stay on Framer?
Often you should. We recommend the move when content volume, editors or SEO structure have outgrown Framer, not because Webflow is better in general.
